On Monday, the 11th of December 2017, a group of 20 students (including me) got on a bus at 9am and headed off to the holy family parish in Deansgrange, Co.Dublin to take part in a S.V.P Letter drop. When we arrived at the parish we met some of the members of the local S.V.P community. We split off into groups of two or three. Each group travelled with one of the members to the local estates and houses near the church. Tadhg and I were driven by one of the members, to a different area around Deansgrange. We put donation letters into hundreds of postboxes for nearly 3 hours. After we finished with our area we got dropped back to the church and got gifted Quality Street chocolates from the S.V.P members.
A couple of weeks later we found out we raised €13,000 from the S.V.P letter drop which we are very happy and pleased with. I am really enjoying taking part in S.V.P charity work because every little bit I help out with will make a huge difference to someone’s life.
