On Friday, the 17th of November 2017, my year (Transition Year) went to the DCU open day (Dublin city University). At 10 o’clock that Friday morning we left the school by bus and headed off to the college. We arrived after a 40 to 45 minute drive. When the bus pulled up to the college there were hundreds of students walking around the campus. We walked into the college, went into the ‘Helix’ and got free goodie bags from two college students. By then it was about 10:45 AM. Many people had talks at 11am but my first talk wasn’t starting until 12:15am. The college had many different tasks but personally I wasn’t really interested in much of them. Examples of talks were; Science education, nursing, communication studies and psychology.
My first talk was at 12:15 it was sports science and health. I arrived to talk at 12:09 but the lecture room was full. At 1:30 there was another talk that I was also sort of interested in. The talk was about environmental science and technology, it was very interesting. In conclusion, the DCU open day was only okay because the college didn’t really have many talks/courses that I was interested in. I’m more interested in art/technology rather than maths and nursing.
