On Tuesday the 20th of March 2018, our T.Y Y.S.I group and I headed off to the Royale Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire to the 'Speak-Out' competition. Our Y.S.I group's theme for the year is homelessness. The 'Speak-Out' competition brings many schools around Ireland together so they can express their passion and work they have for their themes. Each Y.S.I group would preform a play /presentation in front of the other schools. After we watched some of the presentations it was our time to shine! During our presentation we explained the type of work/efforts we had put towards homelessness throughout the year. Before we explained our efforts we performed a small play based on homelessness. We all dressed in different coloured clothes - The light colours represented the positive people and the dark colours represented the negative people. Over time the negative people changed their opinions about homelessness to positive. In conclusion, I really enjoyed the 'Speak-Out' competition. Our Y.S.I group were able to witness different Y.S.I projects/themes from all around the country and how different schools were contributing to make our country a better society.
