This year our Transition Year group performed the round and movie and musical “Legally Blonde”. The storyline of the musical is this; A pretty blonde haired woman, known as ‘Elle Woods’ is preparing herself to be proposed to. Little does she know that her charming boyfriend, Warner, is actually going to dump her at the ‘proposal’ dinner. This is because he’s going to Harvard law and he needs someone more ‘Serious’. She is distraught with the news. Elle becomes passionate to prove him wrong by enrolling herself into Harvard law school to show him that she is serious. After her best attempts to get him back, she finds out that her so-called ‘prince charming’ has already moved on to another woman known as Vivienne. Elle tries winning back Warner’s heart but over time she falls for an intelligent but very average man called Emmett.
Our year began to produce the musical in November/December 2017. We were all push out of our comfort zones because we had to be judged on acting, dancing and singing. Ms.Jackie Olahan was producing the show and Aisling was teaching us how to dance. Ms.Olahan and Aisling discussed the roles and we seen were given our parts. I was given the role of the Judge. One of my lines were for example, “Um Ms.Woods anyday now you may proceed, call your first witness”. When I was first given this role I was extremely nervous and un-easy about it. I also had to sing and dance in several different scenes. I think the musical was a great production to take part in as it pushed everyone out of their comfort zones. It also made our year become a lot closer as a group.
