On the space of December 2017 all of the Transition Year students as well as some Fifth Year students took part in the hamper packing for St Vincent DePaul. When we first arrived down to the sports hall (where the hamper packing was going to take place) we were split into different teams. Each team consisted of 6/7 TY students and 3/4 Fifth year students. The Fifth years were the team leaders. They would tell each TY student to go and retrieve different items from all around sports hall, for example, custard, cereal or teabags. When we retrieved the items we would place them into each box in a certain way so that everything could fit. One of my team leaders that day was William Culliton. After about two hours of hamper packing we counted how many hampers we completed which was around 280! Our TY group hope that we helped making a difference to the SVP community in Ireland during Christmas Time.
